Listed here are resources specifically designed to benefit the caregivers of South Richmond Adult Day Care Center's participants. This list was compiled by our previous social work interns and consists of supportive services that are local, accessible, and at a low-to-no cost.

AARP Family Caregiving Resource Line - Use this resource for any caregiving-related questions you may have! Just call +1 (877) 333-5885. An agent can help you between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm, Monday through Friday. Senior ConnectionsThis organization is the “Area Agency on Aging for Central Virginia. They provide “information, advocacy, and services to older adults, persons with disabilities, caregivers, and their families” in counties including the City of Richmond, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, and more.
Contact Senior Connections via phone (804) 343-3000 or email [email protected] Home delivered meals - In partnership with FeedMore, Senior Connections will deliver hot meals to those who are unable to prepare meals themselves on a pay-what-you-can basis, so free of charge if needed - Call (804) 343-3000 to order your meals or click here to learn more Friendship Cafes - For those who are 60+, Senior Connections has various Friendship Cafes in the greater Richmond area. Your loved one would “receive a nutritious midday meal while interacting with good friends and participating in diverse activities.” These meetings “help fight social isolation in older adults by keeping them active and connected to their community.” - Apply for your loved one to join a friendship cafe by clicking here! - Cafe locations can be found here - Call (804) 343-3000 or click here to learn more TeleBridges: A Telephone Reassurance Program - This program connects a volunteer with your loved one at home, making two to five calls per week to check in on them and offer a listening ear. - Apply for your loved one to join TeleBridges by calling (804) 343-3000 or click here to learn more Ride Connection - In need of transportation for your loved one’s medical appointments? Senior Connections can provide round-trip transportation for up to two medical appointments per month however there are criteria: 1. Your loved one must be 60+ or less than 60 and receiving disability benefits from the Social Security Administration 2. If you have access to transportation through Medicaid, you are not eligible for transportation through Senior Connections 3. Rides must be scheduled at least seven days in advance 4. Medical appointments must be scheduled Monday through Friday between 8 am and 2 pm 5. COVID-19 may impact Ride Connection services 6.
